Just found my new favorite thing! I’ve always loved the idea of supporting individual artists… unfortunately most of the time it’s easier and often cheaper to just go to a department store and find mass produced items. Etsy.com makes finding and buying handmade items such a simple process by allowing artists to create profiles and post their wares online.
By simply looking through the various artists’ pages you can find a fascinating array of different items. If browsing around isn’t enough Etsy has this cool little application that lets you find items according to specific colors you’re looking for. All you have to do is move your mouse around and select the exact color you’re looking for – after clicking on the color you want the app suggests different items that match that color.
Of course I immediately clicked on a few different shades of green (: I loved one of the suggestions that they came up with. Besides the fact that it’s green it’s just ridiculously cute!
I can’t wait to see what else I can find on the site!
