Sort of off topic, but if you’re interested in some brand name watches then check out bluedial. I gave a watch to my boyfriend for our anniversary and he loved it. He wears it all the time and worries every time he has to take it off for sports, swimming, etc. There are some truly awesome watches at that site and the prices are incredible! So if you’re looking for Brand name watches like Seiko, Citizen, Bulova Casio check out the link.

If you’re going to be in Vegas in December….

There really are few traditionally American entertainment options left today. One such example that I’m really interested in is the National Finals Rodeo, which has been around since 1958 and is used to determine the world champion in the different events that it hosts (bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping – headers and heelers, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding). Luckily you can find NFR tickets 2010 online at teamonetickets.com for this year’s events.

The National Finals Rodeo is coming to the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada in December of 2010 and will be there for 10 days (the 2nd through the 11th). Ticket prices range from an extremely reasonable level of about $70 to upwards of $500 for the really close seats.

I haven’t been able to go to a rodeo since I was a little kid, but I definitely remember having a ton of fun just because the atmosphere at these events is so lively and interesting while the live action events are really entertaining. If I was going to be anywhere near Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo I would seriously considering going just because you rarely get the opportunity to go to a national championship type event and this one contains such a unique entertainment option that it would be hard to pass up.

I’ve recently discovered the serious benefits of renting from actual owners of vacation properties instead of going through resorts or travel agencies. Usually the homes are much nicer and the listings are very competitively priced. If you’re looking for beach vacation rentals, golf vacation rental, or ski vacation rentals you should really Watch & Review This Funny Vacation Rental Video. It jokes about a family who are about to check into a normal hotel chain but get saved at the last minute from their bad decision. It points out that renting from owners not only saves you money but provides much better lodging than crummy hotel chains.

Diet Plan

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to try and live a healthier life. After gourging myself on cream cheese and hot sauce chicken dip, fried shrimp and crab wontons, and an enormous amount of chicken wings at the Super Bowl party last night I’ve realized that I’m not keeping up with my resolution. There’s this great site offering something better than the ton of other weight loss programs on the market. Lindora’s “Lean for Life” program looks great for me. Not only does the program consist of healthy eating, but you get to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, so you won’t be starving yourself. I can’t wait to get started with this new program.

Birthday Option for the BF

I posted a few days ago about dropping hints for a watch that I really wanted for Valentine’s Day from my boyfriend, which really got me thinking. A couple of things are going on: his birthday is coming up in March, I don’t know what I’m going to get for him, and he just broke his favorite watch (which was a disaster anyways). I’ve been checking out an esq watch on the same site I found a watch that I wanted that I really think he would like. He’s not too much of a flashy guy and isn’t really into wearing anything crazy but I think he really needs a nice, durable watch that he can wear for everyday things but also for events that we need to dress up for. There are a lot of really nice watches on the site and I can’t really decide which one would be perfect for him so I think I’m going to ask his roommate’s opinion about what he thinks he’d like the most. Luckily I do have a little bit of time before I have to make a decision, I’m just hoping that I can come up with one he’ll really like wearing instead of just faking liking it for me. I’m sure I’ll be able to find something perfect though.

Surprise!

I wrote a post a while ago where I said I was thinking about attending a rodeo event in Houston which has not worked out yet for various scheduling issues with friends. Fortunately I’m going to be going to Las Vegas in December of this year for a business conference – which I’m so excited about!! Anyways, it looks like there is going to be a ton of National Finals Rodeo events in Vegas during the time I’m going to be there. I think I am going to try and surprise my boyfriend by getting tickets for an event from nfr tickets.com. I’m pretty sure he is going to love going to this with me since he seemed pretty excited about potentially going to see a rodeo in Houston with a concert afterwards. I think we are going to be able to get really good seats too because the prices for the tickets seems really reasonable. I know my boyfriend will love being right up close to be able to see all of the action in the arena during the event. At least now I already know what part of his Christmas gift for this year is going to be – it’s so far away but I can’t wait to see his reaction when I tell him what we’re going to be doing.

Spring Break Plans

While I’m just not starting to get my apartment / life back in order after Winter Break and the ski trip in West Virginia, everyone else is already working on planning for our Spring Breaks. Some of my friends are steadfastly trying to convince me to go on a cruise with them – I just don’t see myself doing well on a cruise so I think I’m going to suggest checking out Panama. I was considering Mexico while some other friends wanted to go to South America, Panama seems to be a great compromise since it’s right in the middle.

I’d really love to be there for Carnival. I can imagine that the Panama hotels would be more expensive then but I think it’d definitely be worth the experience. Evidently there’s a town about 130 miles from Panama City called Las Tablas; it’s supposed to be an absolutely amazing place to celebrate Carnival. Besides Carnival and the Panama Canal, it looks like there are a ton of interesting things to see and do in and around Panama City. Since I’m planning on going with a group of college students we’re definitely going to want to check out the nightlife in the city. Other than that I’m sure shopping, heading to the beach, and eating amazing food will probably take up most of our time. Can’t wait for Panama!

Idea for a Fun Night Out

Do you ever get bored going to the same old sporting events or just out to see a movie? I certainly do so I’ve been trying to find some sort of unique form of entertainment to check out. I think going to a rodeo might be pretty exciting since I haven’t been since I was little. It looks like there is an awesome one in Houston – some of my sisters in my sorority are Animal and Poultry Science majors so hitting up a rodeo / livestock show would be right up their alley.

Not only is it the rodeo but also afterwards they have huge names in country and rock music lined up to perform in the center of the ring. For instance, this year it looks like Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Kenney Chesney and the Black Eyed Peas are performing in March alone. Just to see them would be worth going alone. It looks like they have really reasonable ticket prices for the shows – you can spend a lot to get right up front; otherwise ticket prices range from about $20 to $200 for the Alan Jackson show.

Anyways, it looks like a ton of fun – all the pictures on their website from previous years look awesome. I’m definitely going to be getting tickets to concerts at the Houston Rodeo for a fun night out with my friends.
